This week’s assignment was to create and narrate and instructional video and then add interactions to it using a suit of various programs. I found it a relatively easy process, However, there were some hiccups. My first attempt at recording failed as I was using a browser that the program Screencastify is seemingly unable to record. Using the browser Opera I am able to utilize most Google Chrome extensions. It seems that there are some that still wont quite work. This was a minor setback and I simply rerecorded the footage. Indeed, it gave me the opportunity to correct any minor faults that I made in the original video. From there, the main problems involved the school’s server being slow. It made it difficult to add interactions within opened.ca. I had to reattempt the process a number of times because of timing out. Ultimately I prevailed and was able to complete the video. I enjoyed helping my fellow students who are less tech savvy. I found the process a little confusing and could have used the initial tutorial information in smaller, more bite sized pieces. Using multiple programs in sequence can be hard or confusing when the instructions are provided in one go.
Overall I think that this is a very useful skill to have. Especially with the current situations worldwide and lots of classes are ending up online. Being able to provide the information and add interactions that increase engagement, and rehearse information can help students retain knowledge. I foresee this being very useful in the days to come and can even be helpful when creating resources for TOCs should you be away for a lesson. I look forward to crafting more videos in a less chaotic environment so that I may be more thorough. Bellow is the created video on how to build a Dungeons and Dragons character using the site dndbeyond.com

This post is aaaaaawwwweeeeesssoooommmmmeeeee. As a fellow game-enthusiast, I have always wanted to get into Dungeons and Dragons and perhaps trying this online is the way to go. I will re-visit this very clear video when I do.
Also, I totally get the persist vibe when using our school’s wifi; it isn’t always the strongest signal. It was nice to hear that others had some obstacles to overcome in this assignment and that made this post super-relatable. Thanks for being the tech-savvy one who helps us less tech-savvy; such a great post!
